Earliest records suggest that Ryarsh Village was a Saxon village in 1050 AD and was held for Edward the Confessor by Alured. In 1499 it passed into the hands of the Nevills, Lords of Abergavenny in whose Possession much of it still is, along with Birling where they still live.
Today's Ryarsh village is a thriving modern community with many activities and social events available to villagers. Ryarsh Village has a village hall, primary school, church and a warm and friendly village pub.
